Flame Retardant Chemicals Association of Japan (FRCJ). FRCJ represents the Japanese manufacturers of flame retardant chemicals. The Flame Retardant Chemicals Association of Japan (FRCJ) and the Japan Chemical Industry Association have been cooperate to implement an improved risk management framework. The main objectives are the reduction of environment emissions from production facilities, the provision of information on safety of flame retardants (issuance of MSDS, information seminars, etc.), accident prevention (guidance of handling and emergency response procedures), waste management (information on disposal method) and international cooperation (cooperation in international toxicity research programs, etc.)

American Fire Safety Council (AFSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving fire safety through enhancement of fire codes and standards and promoting responsible use of flame retardants and flame retardant products.  Formed as a successor to the Fire Retardant Chemicals Association in 2003, AFSC was created to provide a stronger and broader voice on advocacy and safety issues. AFSC is also reaching out to fire safety groups and government organizations to develop initiatives that promote fire safety.

International FORUM on Fire Research is a group of the Directors of fire research organizations throughout the world.  It has been active since 1991.  Its aim is to reduce the burden of fire (including the loss of life and property, and effects of fire on the environment and heritage) through international cooperation on fire research.  An important membership requirement is that the applicant be responsible for establishing research priorities and allocating resources for fire safety research in their parent organization.

The Alliance for Consumer Fire Safety in Europe (ACFSE) goals are to educate consumers as to the potential hazards of fire in the home, and highlight practical steps that can be taken to minimise such fire risk; raise awareness of fire safety in consumer products among manufacturers and decision makers; advocate effective fire prevention levels for consumer products such as upholstered furniture and television sets; and advocate effective standards of fire safety in consumer services such as transportation, travel and accommodation.
